Easter Day

It was a bit chilly this Easter morning. We're gearing up to watch basketball and go to Nana's for supper tonight. Both kids liked their Easter baskets. We're so blessed!

March Madness

March Madness has many meanings in this household. Sarah lasted 4 months and 29 days in our family before she HAD to have a basketball goal of her own. :)

She also plays with dolly and likes to roll the ball with the best brother in the world. If you look closely, doggie and boy are together under the same blanket.

Egg Hunt

We did a dry-run of egg hunting in the living room before we headed to the very cold church wide egg hunt. Sarah picked up the concept quickly. By the time we got to the park though, she was very tired. Her tiredness resolved once the event started and she picked up plenty of eggs.

Afterward, we went to lunch with two of the families in our small group. Sarah had fun playing "roll the Easter egg" with big brother. He is so good with her.

We SO looked forward to St Patricks day because the kids had fun stuff to wear. Sarah's shirt says, "Kiss me I'm American" The little Chinese girl who is an American citizen now, with an Irish last name just HAD to have that shirt!!!!

Perfect day

In the morning, the baptism of the second child with which God has blessed us. Lunch with good friends. Ending the day dancing with your children to Don McLean's "American Pie", What more could you want?

Sarah's Baptism

Today was Sarah's baptism. There was much fuss over her Strasburg dress, socks and shoes. The bow in her hair had to be just right. It actually stayed in!

We were glad to have the baptism take place at the beginning of the service, rather than the end when she would be plenty fussy. She put on a show for the congregation. She was baptized first, then watched intently as the pastor baptized the other baby. She waved at the congregation, especially when she spotted her friend, Matt. She clapped along with the congregation at the end.

We had lunch at our home with my mom and our small group. I served ham, hashbrown casserole, cole slaw, fruit salad and cake, along with mom's pistachio fluff. We watched the UNC basketball game. We were all tarheel fans for those two hours, and they won! It was a nice afternoon relaxing at home with friends.

Late afternoon, the neighborhood walking ladies set out for some exercise. Spring is on the verge of her arrival.

Pinewood Derby

J's MEAN GREEN MACHINE came in 18th out of 41 at his first ever pinewood derby. We think that's great. After the "time trials" he came in first in his first race Saturday a.m. It was a fun day for the boys.

Poor doggy has had to find a stuffed animal to snuggle.

So much to Blog, so little time!

Life is wild at our home. Sorry it's taken so long to update. The photos are from J's blue and gold banquet for cub scouts. He received many awards and completed his bear and bobcat as a new scout this year. I don't know much about the scout achievements, but that is supposed to be good for a first year scout. He and dad are working on the pinewood derby car. Time trials are Friday and the race is Saturday. He has a campout coming up. We're proud of all he has achieved.

SNOW in March!

We had 4.5 inches of snow over Friday night and Saturday morning, March 7th and 8h. The mommies were due to go scrapbooking, but cancelled due to the projected snow that was anywhere from 3 to 12 inches in the area. We had a great morning playing with our kids. We found a big hill in the neighborhood....then a BIGGER hill to sled on. Sarah liked going down okay. When the boys pulled her back up she layed down on the sled, resembling something of a snow rescue. She did not last very long out in the cold.

Warmer weather

We've had some beautiful weather the past few days. Sarah enjoyed driving her car and playing outside. She could not understand why the snow saucer wouldn't go, though.

These are my kids,

I'm so blessed.
